Fantasy Bookmarks…

A look at the latest product to come out of the Keep…

Hi Guys,

Well, at long last, we have the first of the Fantasy Bookmarks up on the Wizards Keep website that only folks that have visited the Wizards Keep stand over the past couple of years at Comics Conventions here in the UK have seen, or you may have seen lower down on the left hand column of my Blog here.

The illustration, produced in blueline pencil and then digitally painted in Photoshop, is of a close up profile view of a Troll.

Now available to purchase from the website, in the
Shop area, under Fantasy Bookmarks.

They are finished in Matt Laminate and can be purchased singly, or in packs of six, or twelve.

These are the first of a range of Fantasy Bookmarks designed and illustrated by me. I’ll be working on more when I can find the time so please feel free to look for more in the range soon.

You can also have them signed by me, by simply dropping us an email over at Wizards Keep when you place your order on-line.

They are the ideal companion to your reading habits - honest!!!

Coming later will be a top-secret range of Bookmarks, with a difference, which I have produced for another company…stay tuned for more details.

Until next time have fun!

Worlds End Door Posters…

A look at the latest product to come out of the Keep…

Hi Guys,

I am proud to present the latest in the Worlds End series of merchandise.

We launched the new product on the 6th of this month, but with being so busy I am only just now in a position to post a Promotional Blog for it.

So without further ado here is a little bit about the new door posters.

They really are, thus far, the ultimate in the Worlds End Poster range.

Following on from the very popular "On the Run!" poster we have released the 620mm x 1500mm drop, "On the Run" Door Poster. They are incredible and what every bedroom or study door should have adorned on it.

These Huge Door Posters are made out of a washable vinyl Banner material and can be used outside as well indoors.

Printed with outdoor inks using the same techniques, as with the Wizards Keep Museum Quality Giclee Prints they are lightfast and also weather proof, so they are definitely ideal for your bedroom doors.

These posters are much more hardy then normal paper posters.

Now available to purchase from the website, in the Shop area, under Worlds End Door Posters.

You can also have them signed by me, by simply dropping us an email over at Wizards Keep when you place your order on-line.

They are BIG, they are BOLD, and you know you want one!!!

Until next time have fun!

A Time to Play Catch-up…

A look at things in and around the Keep of late…

Hi Guys,

I have been busy working away this last week or so on the Worlds End graphic novel pencils, which is the reason it’s been a little quiet around here on the Blog.

I am close to completing this stage of the book, at least with the laid out pencils, which I will be tightening up following their completion. I am having a ball with these pages and hope to start the digital painting very soon.

Whilst I have been away from Blogging here, there have been a few folks that have passed away that all have links with Comics, TV and/or Film. First was Ricardo Montalban from Fantasy Island’s, Mr Rourke fame, Patrick McGoohan from Danger Man/Secret Agent (as it was known in the USA) and The Prisoner fame and more recently Tony Hart, the resident artist on such TV shows as Vision On and Take Hart, etc.

I have decided not to post Blogs on these wonderful guys and their works, but direct you instead to both
Steve Holland’s Bear Alley Blog (which you can also find on the left hand column here on this Blog under Favourite Fellow Bloggers) and the links below to obituaries for the guys in question.

Ricardo Montalban

Patrick McGoohan

Tony Hart

On a much happier note I will launching a new competition soon on the
Wizards Keep website, which will see an opportunity for amateurs, semi-professionals and professional artists to have their work included in a new Worlds End related book.

Please keep looking here and on the
Wizards Keep News Pages for updates on the latest information.

Now for me it’s back to the Drawing Board.

Until next time have fun!

Hot Wheels Issue #53…

A look at the latest cars…

Hi Guys,

Here is the first, for 2009, of my monthly sneak peaks at the cars you’ll see in issue #53 of the Hot Wheels comic, out now, to whet your appetite.

The two cars are, respectively:

Ratbomb – From the story: “Rat Run”

Fast Fish – From the story: “Downhill Racers”

The former story takes part in a wreckers yard and the letter story is more of a seasonal one set in the snowy Alps of a skiing resort.

The same gang produces both stories as always:

Written byIan " Ironmonger" Rimmer

Pencilled, Inked and Computer Coloured byTim " Tinker" P
Edited byJames " Janitor" Hill

With Production Design byRob " Refuge Collector" Sharp

This comic from Publisher Toontastic is on sale now.

I am looking forward, as always, to hearing what you think of this latest artwork.

The Next issue will contain two cars as usual, respectively titled: Spector and Sweet 16.

Until next time have fun!

Cure for the Common Cold…

Or strange things do happen…

Hi Guys,

I came across this, which was written as part of a fun email from a while ago and thought I would share this little missive with you guys too.

The best cold cure was arrived at purely by accident and has never been repeated for me and was given to me by my wife, Margaret, way back in 1983.

I was smothered in a cold, I was aching with a raging temperature - yet feeling stone cold, my eyes were streaming...you know the kind of thing.

My wife was pregnant at the time and expecting our first child, who was due at any day now. Due to this I decided to sleep downstairs in front of the roaring fire, hoping to keep Margaret from catching it.

It was around 2:30 a.m. in the morning and I awoke to see Margaret coming through the door and heard these immortal words..."Tim, my waters have broke..."

Well anyone having seen Steve Martin in Father of the Bride 2 will know where this is going...

From being totally under the influence of one almighty cold I was up...totally alert (so much so I could have been appearing with Arnold in one of his action movies with the creature about to attack).

By the time Margaret had been settled in the maternity hospital side room ward the cold was no more than the very occasional sniff.

By around 4:30 a.m. the first rays of June sunlight (a rare event here in the UK) came over the horizon outside the window and the sniffs were almost forgotten. The view outside was wonderful and the grounds to the hospital, sadly no longer there, were full of baby rabbits. It was like something out of an animated film.

By 6:30 a.m. with my wife about to give birth the cold was gone and a new ailment struck...of a kind...it was just a pain really as Margaret tried to snap my arm off at the elbow.

One of the midwives asked, "Are you alright?" I figured she meant my wife and I said yes I thinks she's doing okay...

The mid wife then explained..."No I meant you. You look like your arm is about to come off".

So the best cure I have ever had for a cold came in the little package that was my daughter, Joanne.

Trouble is you need to time this kind of thing exactly right, because I have had colds and flu since, but never managed to repeat the cure...

I was fine when Simon was born, although on the day I had a deadline to meet for a cover of Thundercats for Marvel UK and being better prepared the second time around, I ended up inking it whilst we waited in the hospital.

The deadline was met from inside the ward and later that morning a second little package in the shape of my son, Simon arrived.

If any of you guys have been feeling under the weather, and I know that here in the UK there have been some major bugs going around lately, I sincerely hope you are feeling better now.

Until next time have fun!

Grand Christmas at Worlds End Competition Result…

And the Winner is…

Hi Guys,

Well after quite some deliberation the winner has been finally chosen.

It was not an easy task, sifting through all the entries.

Well done to all those that took part.

There can only be one winner in this competition, however and the Winning Entry was sent in by Ellie Ainsworth, Aged 11.

Her wonderfully detailed winter scene depicts Geek standing back from his Geek snowman, which he has just made…Excellent!!!

We are sure you will all join us in our appreciation of her fantastic drawing.

Well-done Ellie!

Look out soon for a New Competition, which will see your work in print here at the Keep in a New Project.

This New Competition will be open to three groups:

  • Professional
  • Semi Professional
  • Amateur

Look for more details on the Wizards Keep News Pages.

Until next time have fun!
